Guaranteed 700g Bakugan!
Who looks better riding the Bakugan Mobile Assault?
The site hasn't been feeling well the past days, with the site down for a short while and the forums down for a longer while. It's also been some time since we've had some news from Spinmaster or Bakugan.com. There hasn't been much news lately. No bakugan balls on the July previews, the Bakugan Dimensions are closing, and just NOTHING NEW AT ALL!!!
But we always have the animated series to keep us company during these, uhh.. quiet times. Let's take a look at the latest episode of Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge.
Encore, Jesse and Plitheon! Looking villain-y, Mason and Avior!
Well, Jesse is still at his book and drama, and Mason is still at his most villainous moment beating up Chaos Bakugan. If there's one thing that won't change with Gundalians, it's that they are straightforward warriors and naturals at war and power battles. Paige could hardly sit still while Gundalia continues to be a war zone.
Dan continues to be headstrong about being on the frontlines of the battle. Surprisingly he listens to Marucho and stays in the command center while the others go to battle... for a short while, at least. Those visions from Mag Mel only provokes Dan, and he finds out that what Mag Mel really wants is the "gate" and the "key." And so, he dismisses his friends' advise (or admonition) and goes on his own way to fight Mag Mel on his own.
Being his childhood friend, Shun read Dan so easily and knew he wouldn't just stay out of the battle lines. He manages to catch up to Dan and gives him a piece of his mind. And just as I was sure Dan got his point and as Shun was reaching out to make amends, Dan backtracks into his original decision to fight Mag Mel alone. Well then, he'll have to go through his best friend first, it seems.
Look who came to interrupt the Battle of BFFs.. It's the other pair of BFFs!
The representative of evil from Gundalia arrives along with his new Bakugan and 3 Mechtogans. Naturally, the representative of evil from Neathia also had to join in the fight, with her new Bakugan and her own 3 Mechtogans! Villains really don't play fair. It's a good thing Drago is the most evolved of the Bakugan and has the Core and Code Eve inside him. If it wasn't for his great powers, and Zenthon and Zenthon Titan, he and Dan and Shun and Taylean would be goners.
It's raining Mechtogans: Mizerak, Venexus, Smasheon, Rockfist, Braxion, and Deezall
I wish Shun called upon his Silent Strike Mechtogan, too, even if it was just by accident like last time. I wonder how Dan would react to that, knowing he wasn't the only Battle Brawler with a Mechtogan. Instead of more Mechtogan, we get another genius invention from Marucho --- the Cannongear, which can strike out a Mechtogan in a shot or two!

Bakugan Mechtanium Surge Episode 18: Battle Lines
The episode ended with a cliffhanger. We're also wondering if Spectra is coming back. I mean, no Darkus brawler for the majority of the season just can't be! Watch out for the next episodes, or watch the previous ones, on Bakugan Tv Show.

Dan's BakuNano Sonicanon
Last week's episode showed us Paige getting the distress signal from her home planet and the brawlers coming to help. Dan comes along, too, taking his place in the lead even though Shun and Marucho are still unsure of his well-being. How could they exactly be happy with Dan after everything that's happened?
So off we go to Gundalia, where we meet up with familiar faces from the past season. Ren welcomes the brawlers first and he's now a commander of the Gundalian forces. We're not surprised, just as we're not surprised that Nurzak became the Prime Minister. But I was surprised that Fabia is now Queen. Turns out that former Queen Serena became an ambassador between the two empires, and Fabia had to step up. I honestly thought it would be the other way around, Queen Serena staying as Queen and Fabia becoming the ambassador. Oh well.. politics can be complicated.
Anyway, it turns out that Dan and Mag Mel have this kind of link where one can read the mind of another and get headaches as the price. Just think Harry Potter and Voldemort and you'll understand what I mean. Dan didn't think that Mag Mel could read his mind, too, however. He thought that the mind-reading thing and the visions were one-way, just like he thought that friendship and trust is also one-way, with him abandoning his friends then thinking they'll just take him back like he's done nothing wrong... okay, back to the story, please.
With Mag Mel reading Dan's mind, he was able to counter the brawlers' plan of ambush. The Gundalians and the brawlers were losing, even when Dan and Drago summoned Zenthon. And of course, with a Mechtogan on one side, we get a Mechtogan on the other side: Dreadeon makes his formal appearance as Mag Mel and Razenoid's fearsome Mechtogan!
Chaos, pain, and destruction are what I crave!
Luckily, before Mag Mel gets to Dan, reinforcements arrive! Hooray for Gundalian-Neathian relations! Neathian Castle Knights arrive to save the day, with Captain Elright leading with Aranaut! I guess Queens don't do battle anymore so Aranaut is now partnered with the captain of the Castle Knights.

Bakugan Mechtanium Surge Episode 17: Gundalia Under Fire
Next week, friendship is tested! Dan is considered as a liability due to his link with Mag Mel but he just won't stop and take a break. He's even getting physical with Shun and Marucho! This is not good when there's a bigger enemy about to destroy worlds. And just when is Spectra coming back?! Watch out for it at Bakugan Tv Show.
After going over the basic team setup last month on Battle Tactic issue #16, we continue forward with BrightLight's Battle Tactic this month in reviewing the basic requirements and rules in setting up a brawl and winning a battle!
Game Set Up
In a 2 player game, both players sit across from each other in the field. The goal of the game is to be the first to capture 3 Gate Cards. Each player's right side is for unused Bakugan and Cards, called the "Unused Pile." All cards are placed faced down in your Unused Pile so your opponent can't see them. Each player's left side is for used Bakugan and Cards, called the "Used Pile."
To start, each player places one of their Gate Cards face down in the middle of the battlefield in the space closer to their opponent, furthest from themselves. Gate Cards are replaced when there are no more Gate Cads in the field.
Begin play with your Team Setup of 3 Bakugan, 3 Gate Card and 3 Ability Cards. Refer to Battle Tactic #16 for more info.
Roll to Battle
The youngest player goes first, and then players take turns. Players must be 2 cards lengths from the battlefield to begin their roll.
During your turn:
Select and roll your Bakugan over the Gate Cards in the center of the battlefield.
If the Bakugan misses and does not land on a Gate Card, it goes into your Used Pile. Now it is your opponent's turn.
If you do land on a Gate Card but no other Bakugan are standing on that Gate Card, it is your opponent's turn to roll.
If your Bakugan lands on a Gate Card where your opponent already has a standing Bakugan, then battle begins!
During battle, each player looks at the G-Power printed on the inside of their Bakugan. Then, flip over the Gate Card and look at the numbers on the left listed in the colored circles. Each circle matches a Bakugan Attribute which is called the Gate Attribute Bonus. Now each player adds the Gate Attribute Bonus that corresponds to their Bakugan. This is your total G-Power.
If there is no text on bottom of the Gate Card and no one plays any Ability Cards or any Support Pieces, the brawler with the high total G-Power wins the battle, captures the Gate Card and places it in their Used Pile. Remember, the first brawler to capture 3 Gate Cards wins the game! Now, each player places their battling Bakugan in their Used Pile.
Don't forget that before you roll, during your turn or after battle, you may play any applicable Ability Cards that are in your Unused Pile. You may even play ALL of your Ability Cards, but choose your cards wisely! Ability Cards go into your Used Pile once you have used them.
Also, during a battle, you may play a Support Piece such as Mechtogan, Mechtogan Titans, Mobile Assaults, Battle Gear or Traps. These Support Pieces will add a G-Power boost to help annihilate your opponent! Additionally you may use your BakuNano to give you the edge over your opponent!

"You're not the same guy who brought me out of my darkness." - Spectra to Dan
I'm going to risk the bashing I may receive from Dan-and-Drago fans and say out loud that if ever there was an episode where a person can purely hate Dan, it is this. Even the brawlers are hating him. I've never seen Marucho frown so angrily. Shun could barely hide his anger and frustration. Rafe and Paige are stunned and think so low of him, and even Spectra is disappointed in Dan. I hope Spectra returns quick. His exit was kinda dramatic in a sense that he won't appear for a while.
Well, to sum up the recap of this episode, it was a disaster for the brawlers... and Dan (I'm not including him in the team until he apologizes). Dan arrives with an engine full of smug arrogance and announces that he'll take care of all the Chaos Bakugan by himself. See first paragraph for the brawlers' expressions. He eventually calls for Zenthon, but loses control when he feels Mag Mel. Zenthon goes into a rampage and destroys just about anything, including the brawlers' Bakugan, until he goes off again. Sellon and Anubias then call forth all the BakuNano they possess for all their Bakugan and defeat Drago... And after all the destruction, Dan still hasn't learned his lesson.
Marucho eventually destroys that area of Bakugan Interspace to destroy all the remaining Chaos Bakugan. Then it's on to a Dan-bashing session. Rafe and Paige certainly didn't go easy on him. Marucho was holding back, but there really was a lot of anger in his outburst. Shun was still calm --- on the outside. Inside, he was itching to punch something, and I was wishing it would be Dan's nose.
Dan's display of crazy and power in one gave Mag Mel and Razenoid the needed energy to finally break free! And it's like Mag Mel never runs out of Chaos Bakugan because once he got settled in Gundalia, his entire army was ready to attack.
Can we say that this episode was correctly titled? Because I don't think anyone saw Dan as a hero here. In the end, the area was still destroyed, Dan still has no complete control over his Mechtogan, and Mag Mel and Razenoid are free!

Bakugan Mechtanium Surge Episode 16: A Hero Returns
Next week, the team is out on Gundalia to fight against Mag Mel and the Chaos Bakugan. Plus, we get to see Fabia and Ren again! And Linehalt and Aranaut! It would be interesting if Hawktor, Sabator, and Akwimos, and Linus and Rubanoid would appear as well, and the Gundalian gang, too. But we shouldn't get our hopes up. Let's just see whose familiar faces we will get to see next week. Watch out for it at Bakugan Tv Show.
