Along the lines of the original post (about the name of the two-sided Preyas, and whether Preyas “Diablo” is the same as “Preyas II” on the poster…Today at Target I saw the new Bakuclip packs with the translucent clips and B2 marbles, that are described/shown on this page:http://bakuganbuzz.com/bakugan-bakubelt-and-bakuclips/Although the photos don't show it on that page, all the packages I saw had a name printed on the side, just like the "Series 1" Bakuclips shown on that page. Here are the names that were printed on the packages:

    • Darkus (Preyas II/Preyas Diablo): "Preyas II Diablo"
    • Haos (Storm Skyress): "Skyress II"
    • Pyrus (Hammer Gorem): "Gorem II"
    • Subterra (Blade Tigrerra): "Tigrerra II"

To be clear, the name I've put in parentheses is the name on the official poster or the common name that people here call the Bakugan type, and the name I've put in quotes is the actual text name that was printed on the package. Obviously the Preyas is the most relevant to this thread, since interestingly they called it "Preyas II Diablo". I also found it interesting that for the other "evolved" Bakugan they just put "II" after the original name rather than using the name from the poster (e.g. "Skyress II", "Gorem II")

Thanks for the history and background. It's very interesting to me. Anything more you want to share would be cool. Personally I'd love to see history and trivia etc. on the main website pages covering the different marble types. But that's just me — and obviously there's not as much history for most marble types as there is for the main ones from the show like Preyas, Hydranoid, Dragonoid, etc. But for example there are other things I've seen mentioned here in the forums, like whether Apollonir is somehow similar or related to Dragonoid (since it obviously looks similar). And it wasn't confusing at all -- at least not for me. Since you were answering my questions I guess that's a good thing =)Finally, I was really interested to see the Hydranoid on the Card Force card. I was telling my son about it this morning and realized I had seen that marble before. In the closing credits of the show (at least in the first 4 episodes I've seen) there is a circle of marbles, one of each color, that open up in turn. We recognized most of them but couldn't figure out what the Darkus one was. It looked sort of like a cross between Dragonoid and Serpenoid. But now I see that it's an animated version of the (never made) one-headed Hydranoid.

So far I use a Bakutin to store marbles and cards, plus one of the card boxes for more cards. In both cases the plastic is pretty flimsy so I anticipate that it will break soon if I'm always taking off the top level of the Bakutin to access the ones underneath. Not to mention that most of my Bakugan are still in the package (haven't had time to get around to opening them, and I may end up returning quite a few to the stores once I choose my favorite color for each). So really I keep most of them in plastic shopping bags in my home office closet =)

So if I understand right Agent Spectre, the one you're calling Preyas II is the one that opens on two sides, and your contention is that that's the thing labeled “Preyas II” on the 2008 marketing poster? As I think you mention, the special attack “Preyas” looks like that picture, at least it does to me.Obviously the thing most people call "Preyas II", which is labeled as "Preyas Diablo" on the Target exclusive character pack, doesn't look like any of the ones on the poster (unless I'm missing something). What about the one labeled "Preyas" on the poster? Was that ever released? Is that the series 1 preyas? (I assumed the series 1/2 Preyas looked like the Special Attack Preyas but without the spinning belly -- but that was just an assumption on my part.) I found it interesting that the Target Exclusive "Preyas" (not "Diablo") looks like the special attack Preyas, even including a little spinner thing in its center, even though it's B2 size as far as I can tell. Finally, not to hijack the thread, but I've always wondered why the one labelled "Gorem" on the poster doesn't look like the one that's usually called "Gorem" -- they're similar, but then there's the obvious difference that on the toy one arm opens up...

I saw one somewhere recently (probably eBay) that claimed to have “infinite” G power. The picture wasn't very clear but it looked like they printed the “infinity” symbol (the sideways “8”) on it.But, you know, if I'm ever battling someone and they pull out an infinity G power Bakugan, I'm really going to believe that it's real. Seriously, I really will. Man. They'll beat me for sure. I might as well just quit now.=)(And since we all know there's no way to express tone of voice online, I was of course being sarcastic)

I was out again today (making some returns to a different store) so I dropped into Target to see what characters are in the display cases. They had five different varieties in stock:

    • Pyrus Blade Tigrerra
    • Aquos Preyas II
    • Subterra Storm Skyress
    • Haos Rattleoid
    • Ventus Harpus

I've only lived here in California about 16 months. I actually live pretty far east of San Francisco, although I go there to work a couple of times a week (I work from home the other days). It's about an hour train ride to get to SF; about 50 mins driving on the very rare days when traffic is light enough that you're actually moving most of the time. Before moving to California I lived in Bloomington Indiana for 6 years, in Salt Lake City Utah for 4 years before that, in Argentina for two years before that, and before that I lived in Texas (a suburb north of Houston called "The Woodlands"), which is where I lived from elementary through high school.

By “no stickers” I just mean that there's no sticker covering up the G power, so you can see the G power without opening the package. That's how I know the G power — I didn't actually buy them all =)

They have the display case in my Target now. The only problem is it only holds about 7 Bakugan, so I'd need several for my planned collection. It comes with a B2 Bakugan (there were 4 or 5 choices) — all with no stickers, and all the ones I could see had 550G. That's consistent with the Target exclusive character packs — all the ones I've seen of those also all have 550G.

Well, I happened to see one on EBay today (ends in 3 days I think) and the seller is from Arcadia, CA. Maybe they're arriving in the west?I've seen the spinning ones since the week after Christmas (if by "spinning" you mean the special attack Preyas that has random attribute or random g-power). I've got several, and I bought them all at Wal-Mart and Toys-R-Us. I've never seen the angelo/diablo though.

I personally would probably do it in PHP/MySQL, since that's what I have available in my personal web host, although I haven't actually done serious PHP for a while. (I worked for several years doing ASP.NET, and I actually prefer that to anything else I've used — but I don't have a server for that =)I had half a mind to do the front-end in Adobe Flex, because I work for Adobe (loyalty to the employer, and all that) but that wouldn't be my first draft, probably.

I work in software development and have done web programming for several years. I was thinking of building something like this before Christmas (only I was thinking of two databases, one for marbles and one for cards) I personally thought it'd be useful for going to stores, trying to identify Bakugan, figuring out which characters are most powerful, figure out what variation there is in G Power, etc. When I found this site I sort of gave up the idea, because of the individual pages about each character, and the card listings. But if others are interested I could maybe find the motivation to work on it =) I've got a big project at work keeping me busy for the next couple of weeks, but after that I should be a little less busy.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I've been checking local stores almost every day for a week to try and find one of these.Nimrod98, did you order yours on Amazon/EBay/etc., or did you find it in a store? (My question is directed at you since you and I live near each other in CA.)

It seems like they've decided to re-release the Series 2. This morning I went to Toys R Us and they had a new shipment (still in the shipping box, open on the floor) of Series 2 starter packs. I've also seen Series 2 boosters at Toys R Us 2 or 3 times (maybe once a week since Christmas).Strangely, I also found two Series 1 starter packs at Toys R Us today. I've found one there in the past, one Series 1 character pack (Aquos Serpenoid) at Target yesterday, and (I think) 3 Series 1 booster packs at Wal-Mart, all after Christmas. The first ones I found, I assumed were just things people returned after Christmas. I still haven't found enough to be convinced otherwise, but I'm surprised at how many I've found.

I've seen the Orange racks of course. I'm also certain I've seen racks with Ventus clips, with Aquos clips, and with Darkus clips (and maybe others — it seems like at one point I saw what seemed like all the types at Wal-Mart or somewhere).
