ok, first, flip the little feet in, then push the spikes in on his back and pushe down his back, and if you are facing stug's direction, close the right claw arm, it will be if you are facing him, on the left, and then close the other claw arm

My Bakusolar does the same thing you're talking about, just try to open the large claw when it's on metal and it'll open easily.
