      well i was thinking of tentaclear being derived from a medusa. if you stare in a medusas eyes you turn to stone and tentaclears atacks all have to do with vision. they also have snake hair and tentaclear have a lot of extending tentacles.

      Well, Monarus may be from monarch, but technicly she's a fairy. More greek mythology (at least, I think fairies are from grekk…).

      Griffon is not a griffin, because a griffin has the frony half eagle, the back half lion. Manticores have i the other way around, like Griffon. So, Griffon is a manticore.
