Why was the crowd so shock Drago spoke when Bakugan were clearly speaking during the battles?

totally agree, the weakest point in the whole story and yeah, isn't Brontes suppose to be mechanical too?I can't imagine him roaming around in a habitat like just some creature...I did enjoy his limited performance very much though...clearly they wanted Meta Altair to steal the show...
