They introduced new methods of evolving older pokemon. They couldn't have an Eevee evolve into Umbreon with a Moon Stone because they couldn't explain away why you couldn't use a moon stone on eevee in the first gen. They couldn't

i can see eevee evolving into a ghost type with dusk stone, and a he could evolve into a dragon type at the dragon area in johto, and he could evolve into other forms by having max friendship with you and having a specific pokemon type right next to him in the pokemon lineup. or they could just create new stones and they could create shards from the stones the make glacion and leafeon.

The problem with most of those ideas is that they already exist currently, so they couldn't explain why they wouldn't be usable in the current gen. it's why then invent new evo items for old pokemon to evolve into new ones.

They currently exist, so why not add on to them. Yeah, new ways of evolving are okay. But what were you talking about.

Maybe they should also have like gender evolutions. Like for Burmy, but yeah they could still totally past the limit of 17 Eeveelutions. With all the new ways we're talking about.

I like the idea of a Fighting Eevee also, but I think if so have a Normal Evolution of Eevee and then just have like the rest of the 8 Eevees that they don't have yet. One for every type. I would like to see some other ways to Evolve Eevee though. Such as Dusk Stone to get a New Dark Evolution of Eevee. Same goes for a Leaf Stone. Dawn Stone and everything else. Location Evolutions should be brought back in. With like Eevee evolving at Mt.Coronet, for a Steel Eevee.
