I myself haven't seen it, but heard enough about it. Pokemon was failing then. But then G/S was released and it stopped.

I'm pretty sure the Porygon episode of Pokemon did the scaring enough.

No need for more types. It ruins the Table, IMO. If they're was a light type, what. It's basically nothing. What moves like Flash and Tail Glow and crap will be light type attacks.
