bakuganry,I have seen you going around saying things..You have proven you know many things about bakugan, but some of them just came out of nowhere,Like thisIf you have read the bakugan FAQ.The gate evolution thing, like the skyress card would work for storm skyress because skyress is still in the name.So Darkus brawler is intending that it would work for abilitys, and since fencer is in metalfencer it would work for fencer also
I've read the FAQ and the only thing Im trying to clear up is that if this card was intended to only be used on the TRAP. Plus it does say "Play when you add a MetalFencer to a battle" which means the only time it is playable is when the bakugan is added to the battle. So playing it after the battle starts with a fencer and another bakugan will not work. The only other scenario I can think of is when the player used combo battle and pulled fencer from the used or unsed pile then that satisfies the "Play when you add a metalfencer to a battle" condition of the card.Anyways I am just trying to learn as much as I can about the game and the different "legal" plays. I know SM screwed up some a lot of the card text and I not trying to be a know it all.
July 24, 2009 at 8:21 am #261255NO WAI! if you put the card in the sleeve hidden effects show up?!
Yes the special "Hidden Reveal Card" (as SM labeled it) will show the hidden text when it is put in the sleeve WHERE the front of the card is facing the back of the sleeve.

1. I don't think you can rereoll out of a battle, because it is now a battle, and not your turn to roll. You can, however, reroll of a gatecard that there is no battle at. Entering the battle effectively ends the rolling phase.2. There are no mechanics in the game that refer to you having wo bakugan in one battle, other than gate cards... And those do not alter the rules outside of their own use. Same with the above idea, entering a battle will change the phase of the game. Any card that says "after you roll" has to be used during this whole rolling phase.Basically, the game should opperate as:Roll Phase - All abilities played in this phase must be resolved within this phase unless stated specifically on the card.Battle Phase - All abilities activated here must resolve at the end of this phase, i.e. all stat boosts, trap changes, pearl effects, whatever all get calculated at once to determine the victor of battle.End Battle Phase - Any abilities activated in this phase must be resolved in this phase and any effects reliant on whether or not someone won the battle or not are resolved now.
I see your point but the thing is although the battle phase started if no ability cards have been played it is RIGHT after you rolled, so in a literal term it counts. Now for my newest discovery: THE METALFENCER LOOPHOLENow the metalfencer card says only metalfencers can use it, right? WRONG. Bakugan cards are supposed to apply to ALL EVOLUTIONS of a Bakugan, and I think (unless it's proven otherwise) Fencer is an evolution of Metalfencer. So you can play the Metalfencer Trap card with a Fencer and change your opponent to your attribute! Another EPIC loophole, plus if the Maxus Drago set comes with a Spyderfencer card, it would ALSO apply! WIN
Umm is this confirmed? I am thinking that if it targets "Metal Fencer" then the bakugan or trap should at least have the "metal fencer" text as part of its name.
July 23, 2009 at 1:31 am #260504Cool. So basically the card means to pull another bakugan and add their G-power's and use it for battle? Ignore the text “Add up G-Powers to see who wins”?So this play is legal.1. I play Combo battle ability card.2. I roll my lowest G-power darkus bakugan on my "Duck & Win" with my opponens bakugan already on it. Before the gatecard is revealed I pull in another low G-power darkus. 3. I play doom card.Let us say I end up with the lowest total G-power. So I win and my opponents 2 bakugan are removed from the game? I've had this combo in mind but I was not sure if the text "Add up G-Powers to see who wins" would affect the gatecard ability. I mean if it was written as "Add Up G-powers and battle ensues" then it would be easier to figure out if the combo was possible.

The one thing you have to consider is that the product is targeted for a certain age group and they do want to make this game profitable for that age group as much as possible. For kids having 4-8 G-power versions for 1 figure is too much and might become a big turn off. Just picture a kid trying to look for the highest G-power for 1 bakugan type that he/she wants. Not considering the attribute, with 4 -8 variations will mean 1/4 chance - 1/8 chance if getting the highest attribute. It could possibly mean that 1 kid might end up buying a couple of figures of 1 type of bakugan before that kid becomes satisfied. This will generate what we call "trash items" which in turn could be a reason not to buy. I mean who wants to keep buying the same thing over and over again. This will drive parents crazy. Also you have to consider kids need to get the cards too which is another element of the game. Also this will mean they have to manufacture more of 1 product to provide right amount of distribution and get their retailers to buy more.
I disagree.

Let us say for example they have to distribute 1000 of each for 1 area. This means they have to manufacture 8000 items for 1 bakugan to cover right amount of distribution and actually get their retailers to purchase and distribute all 8000. So 8 bakugan types for 1 attribute will have 64000 pcs
July 22, 2009 at 5:44 am #259928SM is probably working on it. A well developed tournament site could immensely benefit this game. Tournaments and events are part of having a collectible game franchise. Tournaments are also a good indicator of how a product is doing. I just hope SM will deal with the product distribution first and push their retailers to stock up properly (ie. Walmart only sells traps and some other bakugan products on their online store which sucks) . I've seen a lot of kids (and parents too) grabbing bakugan products but the amount of selection available is disappointing. I know times are tough but having money to burn and no bakugan products to buy is sad. (LOL)
July 20, 2009 at 11:14 pm #259092Oh I found some additional info. I guess reading really helps. LOLFrom the FAQ3.03: How do you play a Bakugan Trap? You may play one of your Trap during a battle as long as the Trap and Bakugan have the same attribute. For example, if you are using a Pyrus Bakugan in that battle you need to use a Pyrus Trap.To play your Trap during a battle, take it from your unused pile and drop it onto the Gate Card engaged in battle. When it opens up you will see one or more attribute symbols revealed inside it. You will now change the attribute of your Bakugan to any one of the attributes printed inside your Trap. Since the gatecard does say at the start of each battle then the gatecard will resolve first.
July 20, 2009 at 11:01 pm #259086Well this can only be resolved by figuring out the order which effect will activate first. It is already stated on the card that the attribute changes "at the start of the battle". It is however unclear if traps can be played "at the start of battle" or when exactly can they be played as they seem to be playable at the start or during the battle. BUT if all effects get resolved as they are played then SINCE the gatecard is already in play (by being in the used pile) it should execute first. It could be similar to this scenario where you play an ability card that boosts a pyrus attribute to +80 which resolves right away then playing a trap changes the attribute of the bakugan and regardless of the new attribute it will carry over the additional 80 to its g power. Effects basically dont stack. All effects come into play as they are played (and meet requirements) and no such thing as an effect stack exist.I do hope that rulings are made clearer like when traps can be played or which elements of the game happen first.
July 20, 2009 at 6:10 pm #258841“Your” targets the player and “used pile” targets a specific part of the player's area. I agree it sounds unclear but I am assuming the card text does not refer to the owner of the card but the
July 20, 2009 at 5:21 pm #258829While this Gate card is in your used pile, It has to be in your used pile. It is clearly stated on the card
