So will this make non-gi cards obsolete? Do you think they will still be permitted for use? Cuz I don't want my entire collection to turn out a waste.

I don't SM will be doing this soon. They are too unorganized to change something that will cause more problems. Other games have a so called "series block" which usually cover a couple of expansions for 1 set to be legel for tournament play BUT since tournament play only happens once in a blue moon then I do not think SM will try to purge the old cards or even old bakugan. The series 1 was banned from Baku-con because of the cards that don't work with the current gameplay. The new GI cards can work with our existing cards and existing gameplay so right now we are safe.

Seems like Math is an integral part to winning. Like when DB's opponent played those AC's and still came up 10G's short.

The game is all about Math. You know you are good if you can tell if you are going to win by the end of the 1st set of gate cards.

Bakufrost, Bakusolar, Bakusteel, etc. are all considered Special Treatments(as in refereing to a paint treatment.) All Special Attacks are treatments. I'm wondering if Gundalian bakugan with the pegs for Weapons are considered treatments.I'm seriouslly jealous of you guys. I was hoping that if there was to be organized play, there'd be an Adult age group and a lower age group for some of the younger kids(though that might be a hassle, lol, and it seems things are still to shakey for dealing with younger players.) I would be up in New York in a heart beat if I were allowed to play in a tourny, even if it were just a side tourny.

SM right now does not care for olders players. Our knowledge and understanding of the game to them right now has no value or is not worth to spend some $$ or effort. This is where they are wrong. Some of the most popular collectible games are being kept popular, alive and profitable by adults and older kids. Younger kids have little loyalty but older players are more sincere to their hobbies. Once the fad and hype is gone who do you think will still be buying Bakugan?

    ur answer: Me(16), BC(Mid-twenties?), Ernie(older than BC), HM(....adult), etc.

    ME (College age) etc.

    Me(38) Bakugan loving DAD of 2 brawlers(8 & 10) and one DEKA fanatic son(7) !

I am just reading the issues with the tournament and It just goes to show that SM should really put some work in organizing and clarifying the rules and maybe list down all possible rulings. Having the so called battle masters go as far as voiding the text because they could not understand it is disappointing to say the least.

Anything can happen. I remember B2 Bakusteel came out afte most of the B3's came out in my area. With SM distribution is always poor and right now I dont see any retailers restocking anything yet which adds more problems because Im sure they're not going to stock everything that is new.

It is strange that some areas are having no such luck with the B2 BakuSteel. It did go on sale for $6 as starter at walmart.com right after christmas.

If the online game will follow the same rules as the actual toy game then it is a win. Players are dying to battle with other brawlers especially with the lack of smaller and more local events. The video game was OK but some huge differences in the gameplay was a big killer for its lifespan. I was hoping the video game was designed so I could play the actual toy game without actually playing with someone. MMORPG's or online games MUST have a very very long lifespan for it to be profitable. They must keep players playing and interested for months or even years. If they are introducing some new bakugan game concept then it will be a huge risk because once it sucks then they'll be struggling with it for the rest of the game's lifespan.

You have to understand that bakugan even if it is targeted for kids, has to mature or evolve so that the current fanbase can grow with it. You can't keep throwing and reusing old material since the current fanbase will get older which means players will get to understand more. Just look at how other sucessful games like pokemon. I remember pokemon during the early sets, simple rules and with simple gameplay buy looking at it now can give you an idea of how far along the game has evolved. If you are worried about the getting too confusing then that is what we the fans are here for. The current fans will make sure the game is as enjoyable to both old and new players. Forums and information sites like the buzz keep the game going and content, feedback, questions and complaints keep the game in check

S3 is suppose to have more UPs from what we've seen so far.Additional Gameplay element - The new battle gear is an addition to a game which is very cool. Now a team is composed of a battle gear, trap and 3 bakugans. Additional Card Type - This is actually good because we don't have to squeeze another card with our existing 3 ability card limit. This is what made some of the traps cards so hard to use. They don't do enough to sometimes consider them as a part of your deck. Some are good though.Cross attribute feature - This is where the traps failed. The ability of the battle gear to work on different attributes is very nice and I dont have to buy 1 gear for each attribute which is becoming too painful for my wallet.

Maybe Sensei can enlighten us with the updated rulebook. I know the battle gear adds more excitement to the game but I do hope the rules for it dont suck. I also like from what i think is being able to use battle gears for different attributes not like traps which are keyed to the bakugan attribute you want to use them.

I saw something called “Reference cards”. What are those? Also I saw some cards have two abilities that are beside a specific symbol. Are those abilities activated only for the bakugan that you are using the Battle gear on?

Wow that is AWESOME. This is a best example of how good of a Collectible toy game Bakugan is becoming. The changes done to the entire franchise is nice and something that is expected from a maturing collectible game.
