Masquerade is a very mysterious character who has only one purpose: to send all Bakugan to the Doom Dimension. A great Bakugan player and Dan's No. 1 rival, he wears a mask and no one knows his true identity. Masquerade is very dangerous brawler for he bears the Doom card, which allows it to send the losing Bakugan to the Doom Dimension. He teamed up with Hal-G, and together their goal is to ensure that the dark side wins, attracting negative energy and making Naga supreme ruler over Vestroia and Earth. He is a master of the Darkus attribute.

Season 1
- Masquerade was created by the negative energy of the Silent Core held by Naga. He was the main antagonist for the most part of the season.
- No one knew who Masquerade really was until at the latter part of the season.
- He wears a blue visor that covers most of his face. The visor measures and calculates G-power levels in a brawl.
- Masquerade operates by manipulating brawlers to use the Doom card in their brawls and send the losing Bakugan to the Doom Dimension. He has also succeeded in manipulating top brawlers Klaus, Chan Lee, Billy, Komba, and Julio to brawl using the Doom card.
- Masquerade changed to the good side when he was defeated by Dan and realized that brawling was also bout having fun and not all about winning.
- He was vital to boosting Alice's confidence in brawling, by appearing to her subconsciousness and telling her that she can win because they were one person and his skills were her skills as well.
- He is a skilled brawler and achieved top rankings, bringing down the ranks of Dan, Shun, and the other brawlers. He is one of the most skilled brawlers of Bakugan.
