Or better yet, have each attribute have an attribute that is its weakness ( like ventus would be weak against fire ) and if your opponents bonus happens to have the ring, then its a minus ( assumig its weak against your type as well ) Makes it a little harder to make them get a minus but makes a little more sense… So if you are using pyrus you may want to use gate cards that have a ring around ventus just in case your opponent is playing them so you will give them a minus. As for which ones are weak against which ones...... obviously the ventus would probably be weak against pyus, pyrus would be weak against aquos, aquos would be weak against subterra, subterra would be weak against haos, haos weak against darkus and darkus weak against ventus

They do use the yellow ring. It is called a highlight and the ability card that uses it says:

Play during a battle. If your Bakugan has a special treatment your Bakugan gains G-power equal to the Gate card's highlighted bonus.

Special treatment is listed in the other topic regarding what it is.

i knew it was called a highlight cuz they said dat on bakugan.com but they said the rule for it was coming soon… so theyve already made a rule for it?? oh well its still not a bad idea

Just a note of clarification, there's more than one ability card that refers to highlight. I know I've seen at least two different ability cards that refer to "highlighted bonus", maybe more.

I believe that bakugan.com was also referring to a future use for the highlight in the rules and not just its use on a few cards but i have been wrong before in my assumptions.

I don't like this rule. Somebody insisted on playing that way during a tournament (not my match) but I was the rule judge and said it wasn't allowed. Given that there are card that play off these highlights, and highlights were on the original series 1 cards as well… it just doesn't work very well.Plus I have a series 1 gate card that gives a negative to ALL attributes... No one ever said it did. Can I not add my two cents to something without you trying to pick some fight with me?I know what a house rule is!While it's clever, it just doesn't work very well for "Bringing minuses back".I enjoy a good debate but now you're just being rude.I wasn't bashing the idea, so quit bashing me because I have some constructive criticism and my OWN opinion on how effective something might be in play. Please.I thought it was already given that we all respect one another and each person's ideas on here.

i agree the hidhlight usuallky is on the atribute refered to by the card name or effects so it should give plus if anything but then if there is an ability for that wich ther is it is called DARKFIRE COLOR SHIFT it may be for just darkus and pyrus but i think ther r more for other attributes soo not to slam this but u should do some research on the abilitie cards that use this

That's how I always played, the highlight is a minus. I actually thought that rule was official before the new rulebook came out.
