Ok, so I'm skimming the boards, as well as the internet, and maybe my post-pregnancy brain can't seem to find the answers, but would appreciate it if someone could give me some clarifications on gameplay flow, etc.1. Ability cards - how do you guys play them? Do you play turn-based (i.e. whoever's turn it is plays one, then their opponent plays one, then goes back to first player, etc.), or do you let whoever's turn it is play whatever they want to play whatever they can play, then let the opponent play... there are card combos that depending on how ability cards are played, can be quite devastating if combo'd, versus played in a turn-based style.2. Start of the battle - I play a card with the insturctions "Play at the Start of a battle". My opponent then wants to play a card labelled the same - when does "Start of the battle" transition to "During battle", therefore not allowing one to play "Start of the battle" cards? (Hoping I worded that question right...)3. Attribute changes during battle - When playing a trap during battle, or a card that changes your or your opponent's attribute, what happens to bonuses already incurred from other played ability cards? For example:Battle begins between an aquos baku 500g and pyrus baku 550g. Pyrus gate bonus is 100, Aquos is 50. Pyrus baku plays an ability card giving it an additional pyrus bonus of 100. Aquos plays a card that changes the pyrus baku to an aquos baku - do all of the pyrus bonuses from the ability card remain? In other words, do all attribute bonuses accrued up to this point remain in effect, or is the attribute change retroactive to the beginning of the battle, therefore nullifying the ability card played by pyrus? Or, another example using the same bakus, after the pyrus baku plays that +100 g-power card, pyrus baku drops a trap changing to haos, which on this gate will have a +150 gate bonus, and then plays a card specifically for haos bakus. Can this be done? 4. Strong Winds Blow Card wording - "Play at the start of a battle where you have a Ventus Bakugan. Double all Gate Card Attribute bonuses". Is this only for the player playing this card, or for both the player and opponent? Thanks for the help, people.

1.Both players take turns. Whoever's turn it is plays one, then opponent, ect.2.The start of a battle is debatable, but I usually play with the start of a battle immediately after the gate card is flipped over.3.The bonuses get transferred over to the new attribute. Like, if you play an ability that gives a bonus, then a trap, the bonus from your ability card is changed to whatever attribute your Bakugan is changed to.4.That is for both players. Not realy hepful, but on a character card, where the bonus is doubled if your Bakugan is the same type listed, it is extremely helpful, since the bonus will be quadrupled.

(Hoping I worded that question right...)This is still up for official ruling but basically each person has a chance to play a card at the "beginning of a battle" and this would be right after each person had their chance to play a trap ( at the start of the battle as well )3. Can this be done? Currently Traps must be the first thing played when a battle starts ( im seeing if we can get this changed to add more strategy) Also Gate bonuses are the LAST thing added in the battle before a winner is declared. And finally currently bonuses are added in real time so changing things wont take away what was added previously. It would add alot more strategy to allow traps to be played in the middle of a battle and it would also add more if you could resolve things in reverse like in magic, for ex. you played a card that affects pyrus bakugan and your opponent plays a card changing their attribute to aquos. When they resolve in reverse, your card would no longer have a valid target and be wasted. Although i suppose this could get complicated4. Strong Winds Blow Card wording - "Play at the start of a battle where you have a Ventus Bakugan. Double all Gate Card Attribute bonuses". Is this only for the player playing this card, or for both the player and opponent? The player playing the card must have a ventus bakugan at the start of the battle ( can later change it after card is played if cards allow ) Gate bonuses get doubled. Both players get gate bonuses at end of battle, so it would be doubled for allThanks for the help, people.
Thanks so much for the clarificaitions so far – I really appreciate it! One other clarification I forgot to ask about:Blue-Green Combine - The wording states "Play after you play a blue ability card." Based on the turn-based play, how would you play this card? Do you play this combo'd with a blue card, or play your blue card, let your opponent play an ability card, then play this card? Thanks again!

I never thought about that. I guess play it in combo with the blue card.

The turn based sorta thing is just so your opponent can react to what you have done. As long as it is the next card played by you that would satisfy the requirement of being played after a blue ability card as it doesnt state it has to be immediately played just that it has to be the next one played.
