Prologue:In the year 2012, scientists discovered something terrible. The legend of a meteor destroying all the dinosaurs had finally been disproved. It wasn't a meteor, but a solar flare. A burst of unbearable heat from the sun that once gave our planet life would be our demise. We had no choice. We implanted our brains into droids that would keep us alive during the unbearable heat. Some did not survive the horrible procedure, but they wouldn't have survived anyway. Or would they? After the flare our world's atmosphere disintegrated, we forsaw this and had built large atmo-domes to preserve some of the natural environment before it was obliterated. In the year 5064, our scouts discovered something unthinkable. Horribly mutated humans, living in caves and craters of the barren rock that was once a lush green paradise. They were like animals, vicious, angry, and worst of all, territorial. They wanted their planet back. These creatures began attacking and destroying our atmo-domes, causing alarm among our people. We had no choice but to declare war on these creatures that were once sentient, civilized beings. Which brings us to present-Earth; a dark, desolate wasteland that nobody could grasp in their worst nightmares...Chapter 1: Recon MissionPresent Earth, Gamma Region, Atmo-Dome Ruins*Mission Log: This is Alpha-954, yet another attack laid on a defenseless city. There are no survivors. Our losses in this region are greater than all the other regions combined, there must be a reason. My squad and I are going to investigate the surrounding area, will report back at 22:00 hours.* "See anything Phi?" "Negative Nu, this place is as lifeless as the cold darkness of space." "Keep the scanner on high Phi, there has to be something out here." A bird-like screech pierced the cold silence. "Sir, there's still nothing on the scanner!" "Ready your weapons troopers!" Suddenly a monstrous winged creature rose above a tall rock formation. "Open fire men!" The mutated being screamed, then fell to the ground, dead. "I bet it was a scout, an primitive early warning system." "What do you mean Delta?" "I mean, we're about to be in a lot of trouble..." Many loud animal sounds could suddenly be heard. "Delta, Phi, Nu, Rho, back to the ship! We don't stand a chance!" "Right away, Alpha!" As they ran the ground began to shake. "Sir, scanners are picking up large enemy readings near the ship!" "We have no choice Phi, we have to retreat to allied territory!" As their Droid Airborne Transport (DAT) came into view through the darkness, a huge ape-like form could be seen towering above it. "Engage that gorilla over there, it is of utmost importance that the DAT remains unharmed!" The creature appeared immune to their weapons. "Sir, we're doing zero damage!" "Prepare the rocket launcher Rho!" "I'm on it si- Aghh!" He was cut off by a vicious clawed creature. "Someone get that launcher online!" "Sir yes sir!" "Keep them off me, Delta!" "I'm trying sir, it's like they've mutated an immunity to our weapons!" "Fire the launcher, now!" A blazing missile went straight into the ape-creature's skull, killing it. "We need to get to the ship now! Someone assist Rho and the rest of you move out!" "Sir yes sir!" As they ran toward the ship the creatures began to retreat. "Why are they leaving? They've got us on the run, it's against primal instinct!" "Can it Delta, just get on board!" As he said that a monstrously large vulture beast could be seen coming out of the endless black. "Get us out of here already Nu!" "Trying sir!" The engines roared to life, and the DAT took off. "Sir that buzzard's still following us!" "If we can hold out until the anti-organic shield in the Beta Region, we might have a chance. Activate the hyperdrive!" "Activating..." A huge crash knocked them off their feet. "Nu, status report!" "It's latched on to the hull of the ship sir! I can't shake it off!" "Activate the hyperdrive, with any luck it'll fall off due to the sheer speed of our ship." "Or it'll take the hull with it!" "I said can it Delta, I want that hyperdrive activated Nu!" "Yes sir..." There was a painful screech of both creature and metal as the bird fell off the side of the transport. "We're clear of Gamma Region sir!" "Excellent Nu, comtinue to Beta Region, we'll recharge and reload our ammo there."Chapter 2: Nowhere to HidePresent Earth, Beta Region, Docking Bay 4"Welcome back Alpha-954, Command has been waiting for you. I trust your mission went without a hitch...?" the hangar worker said as he looked at the battered DAT and the injured crew inside. "Not exactly trooper. I'm ready to talk with Command as soon as possible, but Rho requires a medic, quickly." "Understood, I'll call one now." "Alright troopers, adjourn to your quarters until we have to head out again." "Yes sir." Alpha went straight to the communications tower to converse with Command. "You wanted to see me?" "Yes Alpha, we'd like to know the results of your latest recon." "They appear to be concentrating their forces on Gamma Region, I recommend all remaining Gamma Region Atmo-Domes be evacuated immediately." "You know just as well as we do that can't happen Alpha, you don't have enough proof to back up your theory." "It's not a 'theory' Command it's proof, and unless you want it going public-" "We understand your frustration Alpha, but we have too much invested in our Gamma Domes to just give up on them." Suddenly mutant screams and weapon fire could be heard from a lower level. "I have to cut this short Command, something's wrong here..." He ran from the communications tower, his weapons loaded. *Delta, Phi, Nu, I think there's a breach in the base somewhere. Converge on floor 2, area 5.* *Sorry sir, we're all going through medical, you'll have to manage without us.* "Guess I'm on my own then..."
