  • Trap, than "play at the start of the battle" maneuver. Is it legal?

      So I PM'ed LD about this, and he told me to wait while he gets the official ruling from Head Master Jake, who I have never heard of, this must be really official!

      This is actually pretty funny. When I originally joined this site I said this rule to SH but apparently Vendetta made everything official and was all “No, its legal” so I went with it for the heck of it.IMO it SHOULDN'T be legal and the way SM words things (that the start of battle is whent he gate is flipped) should confirm that as you obviously didn't have a *attribute* Bakugan when the battle started which is what the card says.

      Bakugan have attributes before the gate card is flipped hence the cards "play before you roll a haos (or whatever attribute) bakugan" cards.

      Yes, but the thread is tlaking about using a trap. You weren't that same attribute at the start of battle is what I'm saying. Sorry it wasn't clear, of course I know they have attributes before the battle lol

      But IMO, traps were created for situations like this, other wise IMO they're rendered useless. Yes, theres times they save you, but the point of a trap is to chnage your attribute. What would be even cooler is if you could use a trap before you roll, and automatically be that attribute for the turn.

      But IMO, traps were created for situations like this, other wise IMO they're rendered useless. Yes, theres times they save you, but the point of a trap is to chnage your attribute. What would be even cooler is if you could use a trap before you roll, and automatically be that attribute for the turn.

      I think traps were moreso meant for the Gate bonuses or help in multi-attribute teams. Obviously if you're using a team of 2 Darkus and two Aquos and only have a good (lets say Black) ability for Darkus, you just give the team an Aquos trap with Darkus on it.Then there are cards where you might plan ahead to use another ability like Burning Sands for a Ventus Bakugan or something (Or Heavy Water for Aquos XD)

      There's so many ways to look at all the Ability cards…..Like I posted a topic about The Shadow cards. I'd say Ability cards that read Play at the Start of the Battle are the first things that have to be activated in a battle.

      There's so many ways to look at all the Ability cards.....Like I posted a topic about The Shadow cards. I'd say Ability cards that read Play at the Start of the Battle are the first things that have to be activated in a battle.

      But it also says Traps are played at the start of battle DXThey could just make some dang phases and get this straightened out.

      Or you with your Quick End NP.

      This IMO is a good example because no card should be that powerful (ecspecially a Red one) and yah I'm looking at you too Flash Attack! And if they meant that then they should have given them to Aquos and Sub-Terra for they need them pretty badly.

      Well Ventus just rocks, I got lucky in choosing my fave attribute, but yes, QE is a good situation, oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for feedback.

      Phases oh no, it's gonna be like You Gee Ohz. Anyway, I agree that Aquos and Subterra are just bad. And Subterra more cause it didn't get a card that helped it out from the little card things. Like there was like Hard Tundra and Morning Dew and such, but with the new GI cards the metagame may change.

      Thats because Ventus got two (Quick End and Hard Tundra) and anyway the phases would be simple such as:Roll PhaseBattle Phase (split into Trap and Ability phase)End PhaseThats like all they really need. Or they could just do it like the Pokemon rulebook and tell you the exact order that things happen, in terms of Battle anyway as everything else is clear. They just need to clarify on Traps first or Abilities first or what now.

      It gives a max of a 300 boost if you face a Subterra Bakugan. With Ventus being an 100 boost.

      It gives a max of a 300 boost if you face a Subterra Bakugan. With Ventus being an 100 boost.

      And yes its this, every other attirbute (except Sub-Terra anad Haos) has a card like this which gives them 100G or 300 against their opposite. Why Haos doesn't have one makes sense as it has Flash Attack but Sub-Terra just got screwed! At least they have Soil Mana (no Wind Mana =(
