Maybe you could use a card that can only be used if you(not your opponent) is on your last bakugan.

That sounds like a good idea, actually. But one problem, how would they word it? 'Cause if you have no more Bakugan when it's your turn and nobody has three gate cards yet, then you get back all your Bakugan.

I would say,” Play when you are on your last bakugan.Your opponent must not be on their last bakugan.”You could be on the opponent's gate card.

How about “Play at the beginning of a btlle, when you have two Bakugan in your used pile…”.
