Everyone knows that the gold fear ripper is the rarest bakugan, but does anyone know the story behind the translucent grey Fear Ripper?

      #350971

Yes, that is Trans. Haos Fer Ripper. What about him?

      #351014

I'm just wondering if anyone knows the story is behind it.

The Gold Fear Ripper and Steel Neo Dragonoid are the only rare Bakugan. All others are common, and will be released in the Us sooner or later.

I realize that the gold Fear Ripper and Steel Neo Dragonoid are known rares, but you still see them on e-bay everyday.

Esk, what you say is not true at all. Every Bakugan has a rarity level, even though SpinMaster doesn't say it, because each Bakugan is released in different amounts. Everyone knows SpinMaster's horrible distribution. That's what makes some Bakugan rare. The fact that if the Bakugan at hand is an original series 1 size also contributes to the rarity level. Translucent Haos Fear Ripper is actually up there with Gold Fear Ripper and Comic Con Neo, maybe even rarer than both. Why do you think Ernie wants to get his hands on one so badly? Zero sites sell it (at least not affordably), and hardly anyone ever sells it on eBay.

That's true. The distribution is so poor that some bakugan are rare. Actually some NV series are now rare. The NV sets BakuGlow, BakuClear, BakuNeon (original), BakuSwap are now rare because of the stuff that came out. I think the better term is more collectible for these sets. These series even if we are sick and tired of seeing them will not be hard to find. And if bakugan gets more popular which could happen if they start doing the bakugan leagues then you' d probably see the prices shoot up like crazy. Im actually considering buying 1 or 2 gold fear reaper for keeps before they sky rocket to a couple hundred dollars.

I would agree with Silent Naga that there is a level of rarity to each Bakugan.

I have argued all along that there is a definitive rarity level. I promise you, there are Bakugan that are more rare than others, beside the gold fear ripper and the comicon drago. This is one of them!!!!Here is mine.FearRipperHaosTranslucent.jpgI will agree that the series two balls are harder to find and were certainly produced less than any series one ball. By default, that makes them rare.

Bakugan has a rarity level because of the following conditions regardless of what SM will say:1. Poor distribution: All stores do not guarantee getting the same set of products or even all products released for bakugan. Ex : My local walmart store (not supercenter) never got B3 starters (as in NEVER) and only got the very first wave of B3 boosters. Ex 2 : My walmarts also never got the new wave of SA's (Mystic Elico, Dragonoid Typhhon). They've stocked twice with SA's and all they have are the old ones. Ex 3 : 2 Targets which I go to never got the any of the 1st two waves of B3 BakuSolar / Frost starters. They got the last version which I had the viper helios. They also never got the FalconFly Traps & Hexados case while they got the legionoid case of traps. FYI They also never got the very 1st wave of B3 starters. They got the 2nd set of B3 starters (non Frost/Solar)Ex 4 : is the NV BakuSteel series. Only now they are showing up but they've been released like 2-3 months ago. All my local stores started selling B3's while the bakusteel just started showing up now.2. No published Release date. SM will just release stuff whenever they feel like it without informing the community. This makes any new item rare because of item #1.Ex : Bakumutation. They announced some gameplay rules for this product but where the heck is it??3. Old stuff keeps coming back to the shelves. For some weird reason SM is still selling old stuff to retailers which is annoying. The retailers who have no clue about the items is selling stuff that will probably never get bought. This keeps new items from showing up on the shelves because retailers will not order items that are not out of stock and since many item share the same item code then they are basically stuck until they get sold out.4. Case variations. How can you say BakuSolar/Frost is common if only 2 starters come in a case of starters which has 16 starters total. Also keep in mind the 2 frost starters have different bakugan so a collector or player will probably buy both. Retailers usually stock just 1-2 cases meaning the case only has enough to provide for 2 collectors or players.

The single biggest factor whether anyone wants to admit it or not is this…they simply do not produce the same amount of every single Bakugan.I promise you they produce more dragonoid based bakugan than any other. Dan the primary character uses Dragos, therefore just by default they will expect them to be the most popular and to sell the most. There are Bakugan that are produced in smaller amounts than some others are (i.e. "rarer"), believe dat!

I was one of the people that bought the Trans Haos Fear Ripper along with the Gold Fear Ripper from that guy on eBay…almost a year ago now. He's pretty awesome. E's been trying to get his hands on mine forever 😉 But seeing as there were only an estimated 1000-1500 produced, I'm keeping my hands on him. Yes he was a limited production, but was brought out around the same time as the Gold Fear Ripper which was only around 300-350 produced. So back then, the increase to over a thousand wasnt such a big deal. You gotta remember that These were the B1 series and that back then, Bakugan wasnt very popular. So 1000 Trans Haos Fear Rippers sold was a lot! Not like the over 500,000 Maxus Dragos out there 😉So anyways, I hope this clears up things for everyone....Yes it's rare, but not in the realm of the Gold Fear Ripper or the Comicon Steel Drago. (I've got 2 of those lol) So if you have one, make sure not to trade it!
