Pain would totally RUIN the bakugan, because of it being metal inside. Use a sharpie, totally harmless to a bakugan (i accidentaly customed a ventus baliton, and now I sad) but make sure you actually want to custom it before actually making it.

Bakugan don't have feelings, BakuMan. XD.You meant paint.
I have made a custom hydranoid,I used silver spray paint for the body and then when it was dry I coloured the patterns/Effects with orange and teal sharpies. Came out EPIC!!!my tip: Don't use paint for patterns, it spreads and smudges.Don't use sharpies for the body, It will take hours and will smudge!
I use sharpie, the only problem with silver sharpie is that when you put it on too much, then it doesn't open right, but it still opens fully when i do it
i use sharpie. it might not bond with the plastic, but it will still be awesome if you don't abuse it (i.e. throw it, keep it in a bookbag, brawl hard with it, etc.).NOTE: if you use silver sharpies, remember to only go over it with ONE COAT. if you do 2 or more, it will look splotchy and amateurish.model figurine paint would probably work.
Yeah I would use paint, but it does make the Bakugan hard to close. Sharpie seems easier to use. I was thinking about customizing a Ventus Altair. Make it look like NewBakuganCollector's and DeltaDrago27's
