The question I have is can I play the Aquos card to escape the G-power swapping effects of Sandy Beach? Aquos says that it is played “At the start of battle” and Sandy Beach doesn't say when its effect happens. Since the Bakugan at the battle just changed, how does it work?

um lets break it down and see if we can solve thisStart of battle=when gate card is flipped overEffect of gatecard is followed first, then abilities can be played.then calculationsooo... i'm guessing you can since it says at the start of a battle.. and SM has been really stressing the "Start of a battle is when the GC is flipped over" part..

So which is it then ? Is it Card effects/wording first followed by ANY ability cards OR does an ability card, even though it says start of battle, get to be played first ?

You might be able to use Rimaku's Surprise, it cancels the effect of the text, but I'm not sure if you can use it on your card.

well the ability says "play at the start of the battle", which probably means after the wording on the gate card is followed, "play during a battle" cards may be used.does that make sense?

This is completely irrelevent. I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) that the uestion might involve swapping your (lets say) 300G power Bakugan's G's with the opponent's 700G then swapping out your Bakugan so that your opponent still has the swapped 300 G-Power while you have whatever Bakugan you just brought out.

Maybe you're right, I just noticed the "escape the effects of the G-Power swapping."
