Why did GX fail?

Well, the series itself didn't fail, but the anime sucked (worse than usual Yugioh animes). But the cards were awesome (minus the Elemental Heroes, hate those).

Yugi (or to be specific, Yami Yugi), not Yugioh. Yugioh is the name of the show, not any of the characters.

it wasnt yami yugi because he went to rest at the end of the original Yu-Gi-Oh
