Another thing that puts a hole in most strategies like this is Rikimaros Surprise. Then, it would be like any old silver gate.

Not as much so as Riki. His prevents the opponent from winning the gate to begin with, whereas V2 (shoulda' been a V-8) keeps your opponents score the same, but I still see what you're getting at.
