      No you don't. The first battle took place on my gate card. Then we brawled on your card(Which was Stand Off). Thats when I lost. Then we just brawled on my card which was Stand Off and I won. Now I just set down my gate card and rolled out Clayf. So there is only one gate card on the field, mine.
