Hey guys,I just saw some people spamming the chat box and there are some really irritating ones like "hey dudes, i'm bbbbaaaaacccckkkkkk!!!!!!"and there was even another post that mentions a specific body part. Now I'm all up for protecting the kids from seeing these.. Maybe should disable it for now?

Exactly why I never allow chatboxes or chatroom on my sites… XPThey are nifty, but cause too much spammy problems.

i tried to moderate it as much as possible and delete posts when necessary on it but it is getting out of hand. I thought it would be good to get people to maybe stay on the site longer and hopefully check it out and become return visitors but really i think its mostly kids who dont have a clue that there is a forum for “chatting”Give it a few more days and i prolly will just delete it from the site this weekend.

Maybe, you need chat mods, as he said.But, I believe a Bot would help as well.Like, on Vestroia's disfunctioning chat, Firebot kicks a user for flooding or using to many caps.

I've told ernie I'll make him a chat bot some day, but my spare time is non-existent right now.

LOL. YES, I HATE it.X3But, Ernie, if you don't have enough spare time to Moderate it yourself, a Bot would be the correct way to go. 😉

this thread was in response to the original "shout box" that was on the main site itself. The newer chatroom is different and thomas will be working on a bot for us in his spare time
