Hi there,I found this site just before Christmas and have been "lurking" quite a bit since then, so I finally decided I'd better sign up for real.Like others here, I'm a father who was introduced to Bakugan by his kids. I have two boys 7 and 5 who collect and play Bakugan. (My 3-year-old daughter does too, in the sense that she has a couple because she wants to be able to play along with the boys)At first I was annoyed with Bakugan because there weren't ever any on the shelves (back in early November), and I actually wasn't that impressed with the first couple that my kids got. However, in early December I went to Wal-Mart one morning when they had just gotten a shipment, and I was hooked when I saw the variety and the creative engineering of the different ways to fit a character into a tiny ball. Plus there was the whole "must get these because they're hard to find" psychological aspect -- I'm sure Spin Master was trying to create that sense, and it worked on me.My kids are mostly interested in high-power Bakugan, and "rare" ones (where "rare" is pretty much defined as whatever I or their friends say is rare -- usually just the ones that I've only seen a few times).I originally started with the absurd goal of trying to get as many unique Bakugan as I can. I've given up on that goal (thank goodness!) although my collecting interests are still pretty crazy:
- Get at least one of each unique character, with a general preference toward Aquos, Pyrus, and Darkus although it varies by character -- but pretty much no Ventus unless that's the only one I can find, since I think that teal/turquoise is a hideous color =)
- Get one of each color of a few of my favorite types, such as Blade Tigrerra, Dragonoid, Fear Ripper, Frosch, ...
- Pretty much any clear character, and most Pearl although I don't like the Ventus ones so much
- Pretty much any special attack character (in multiple colors)
- Any Series 1 I can find, and at least one original size (Series 1, 2, Bakutin exclusive, etc.) of as many as I can find
