Berries take too long to grow (plus you can't really get them in HGSS), so what's there is there to stay. Gengar is a hasty nature. =/I plan on using the Power (Bracelet?) on Granbull cause his Speed is already terrible.
The Power Bracelet raises the attack EVs and lowers the Speed STAT, as in if you held it in a battle. It doesn't lower the growth of speed while leveling up.
Yeah, Imma probably just going to EV my SS team, cause I'm busy leveling up my Pokemon to beat Red. And I want to have a fresh start on the Pokemon and know 100% how much EVs they've gotten for each stat.
Who ever said the max on EVs were 512 Imma shoot them. It's only 510 last time I checked. Each Pokemon can have a max of 255 in a stat. But for every 4 EVs you get plus 1 to whatever stat.So the other 3 are wasted. It's better to go with 252. 4 can go into it for a possible 63+ to a stat. Those items at the Department store like Carbos and Zinc and stuff, those give 10 EVs to their respective stat.Like Carbos gives 10 Speed EVs. And Zinc for whatever else. But the thing is that you can only give up to 100 EVs to a stat this way. Pokerus is an amazing Virus. It doubles the EVs you gain making it easier to gain them. And not battling 252 Bidoofs or whatever rest. But it is potentially harder to get than a shiny itself. The power stuff from the Battle Frontier. They give a plus 4 EVs to their respective stat.So with this.If you kill a Magikarp+1 SPEED EVwith the power item for speed +4 SPEED EVand Pokerus multiplies that by 2You get 10 Speed EVs for every Magikarp you kill. And with 10 Carbos you have already gotten rid of 100 SPEED EVs. You have 142 to go. Once you get to the number 2 just take off the Power Item and you will gain 2 because of Rus.EVs are invisible, so you'll have to keep track of them.
Gooshy, Timess you answered a question of mine. XD I thought it was 2(1)+4=6 instead of 2(1+4)=10. That makes it much easier. (Has been training w/o using my Pokerus) *hugs*
I was confused by that also a few years ago. So you really need to kill 16 Pokemon for a max to the EVs. Not really all so hard now you think about it.When I was learning how to EV train, I was trying to kill 252 Pokemon at a time. My 6th grade mind was an odd one. Never did finish.
Its relatively easy to EV train if you're only maxing 2 stats. Since what you could do is just equip a Power Item on and go kill for the desired EV. And keep doing that until when you see that when you level up, and the bonus isn't as high anymore or if you can't use a Vitamin for that stat, then you know you're finished with that stat. And then repeat with last stat. It gets tricky when you're diving the EV's even more.
