Bring back the Karma!

Yet again. I still think the Karma system would be very beneficial to the site, as long as we have the right kind of constraints. Th the other site I've seen it used on had a limit of 5 per day, and you had to give a reason each time you give or take away a point from someone. The reasons could be viewed by the member they apply to, and members could be reported for abusing it. Nothing even went wrong last time it was in use, and no one abused it(even thought they could have!).This system works, and it can get members to act a little nicer on the site. Also, if a rating gets too low, they could be consequences set in place.

I actually didn't like the karma system, as some members felt left out, because nobody commented and if they did, it was only negative comments, so I think it is unfair.

Well with the rules posted, each person would have to give a specific reason for subtracting points. And besides, if someone only got negative points that just means they can check what people were complaining about, and try to stop doing whatever's making them disliked.

I'd be in favor of it but think we should only be able to rate a member once and that's it. Because I know some people that REALLY don't fuckin like me.

I liked it, And I didnt flame anyone with excess dislike, I only boosted my friends, so yeah, the general basis is good, it just needs to be restrained.

Hmm…So far it's nearly unanimous. I just wish a Mod or Admin would take a look at this thread. Nothing can be done if no one with power actually reads the thread.

That's probably because you weren't here when it happened. Basically, a while ago, when Haos-Emily was an Admin, she made a few more Mods/Admins to temporarily take her place: SN, Lux, and a couple others(I think). SN made a minor change to the site: the Karma system. Under each member's avatar was a Rating(like trade rating) that looked like this:Karma: +3/-2And it had two buttons under each other member's Rating: One to add a point and one to subtract a point. There was some kind of limit to how many you could do per day, so that you couldn't completely ruin someone's who you hate, even though no one ever abused it.But when Ernie made SN a normal member again, the Karma system was taken away. Now I'm suggesting to bring it back, to urge members to act friendlier on the site.
