its not the browsers, its the computer and not everyone has money to get a state of the art computer. Think about what you say before syaing it.

So if people are having trouble because of a banner, they should just re-size your banner....Plus large flashy banners annoy the crud out of a lot of us....and Thank you Yoshi, I've been out of town....

No problem, all the animations and flashy crap annoy me a lot. I can tolerate them but its just plain annoying. thats why half the time I won't even put a siggy pic although i'm tempted to now after making like 7 of them. lol

It's not as easy as it seems, you know! And it is THEIR FAULT that the Banner is so flashy and is so big that it slows someones computer. HarveyT's OLD Banner was HUGE!

Yeah well unless the admin can manually remove it, then we can't do anything because he probably left for good, I haven't seen him in a hwile. (Those are my hopes anyway)

I edited so only my actual question appeared BUT THESE ARE THE LIMITS FOR BANNERS, NO MORE THAN THAT.At least this is what Baku813 has told me. 😉

c'mon dude… if your computer is so old it can't handle some gif images then You shouldn't be on the internet with it… can You see the header on this site? then You don't need a "state of the art computer"...if too much on a page is crashing or causing things to slow...then your browser sucks...it needs an update... get of the dial-up... saying anyone needs a new computer just to see smoothly bigger images on a page is a cop-out...unless ofcourse You didn't know what You are talking about... I agree smaller optitmized images is a better for all involved... but it's a trade off... I'de like to see things the way people intend it and not have my hands tied by too many limitations....besides the only asnwer You should be concerned with is whats the max filesize gonna be... who cares about dimensions...
