Here is what spinmaster says about tournament rules. You can find it from the FAQhttp://www.bakugan.com/gameplay/2.10: What is Tournament Rules play?Tournament play is an exciting and challenging next step for those seeking Bakugan mastery. There's only one rule that's different in Tournament Rules play, but it is important to know what it is before you play.As you know in regular play, when two Bakugan are in battle both receive the Gate Attribute bonus. In Tournament play, only one Bakugan receives the Gate attribute bonus and that is the Bakugan in battle with the LOWER printed G-Power.If the Bakugan in battle are tied with the lowest printed G-Power then they both get the Gate attribute bonus. No shocker with these rulings. Everyone was in "Tournament rules suck" mode. Now it comes to a shock to some players. I've played tournament rules before. It's fun, it requires more thinking. It balances the playing field because it does not make bakugan a "The player with the highest G-power bakugan" wins game.

This is a copy of what the OFFICIAL Tournament Rules say: (<a href="http://www.baku-con.com/Details/TournamentRules.htmllink to said rules/url])In the event of a conflict among the terms of the forgoing documents, the documents shall have greater precedence over the others in the following order: the Official Rules, the Tournament FAQs and the Game Rules. And these are the official rules being referred to: " class="bbcode_url">http://www.baku-con.com/Details/TournamentRules.htmllink to said rules/url])In the event of a conflict among the terms of the forgoing documents, the documents shall have greater precedence over the others in the following order: the Official Rules, the Tournament FAQs and the Game Rules. And these are the official rules being referred to: <a href="http://www.bakugan.com/assets/pdf/BK_GameRulesS2_En.pdflink/url. So I think I'm correct in saying that those "tournament rules" will not apply.

Keep looking, I can't do it right now but its there. Ask anyone, unless they changed it the rules ARE lowest G takes the G-Bonus. It was something like "Are tournament rules different from regular rules?""The only thing different is that only the lowest printed G-Power Bakugan will recieve the gate bonus"

I found it. But according to the tournament rules the Official Rules take presidence(sp?) over the FAQ, so unless I miss my mark entirely I think that wouldn't apply. I think it was meant to apply but the way they set it up it won't, since the official rules overpower the FAQ they can't enforce tourney rules." class="bbcode_url">http://www.bakugan.com/assets/pdf/BK_GameRulesS2_En.pdflink/url. Everyone should just stop complaining. SM is enforcing the “Lowest G-power gets the gate bonus” rule to balance the playing field.

THank you... I don't know how hard it was to check the FAQ especially when I even suggested to do it...And BTW I was thinking about applying these rules to my tourney and tyring them out because they DO sound fun, its hard to change things up but I think it'll be a fun thing to do.

They are fun because some battles can be unpredictable. The only sure and effective team is the Low G-power Haos 2/Lost Jump Deck which basically only needs to be the lowest g power on every battle. Rulings aside. This is the best way to kick of the 2010 bakugan season. SM should go all out on advertising these events. Also it helps if SM can get some local retailer (Sucky TRU) to have some mini-tournaments.

this will help though if that rule is applied Game Set Per RoundA player may choose to switch the Bakugan, traps, gate cards, and ability cards he or she is using between rounds for each match. However, once they are determined for the match, they may not be switched during the course of a match.

According to Bakugan.com, that dinky rulebook that comes in starter packs is what they consider the Official Rules, when you click on the Official Rules link that's where it takes you. And as for this:

BTW no official rules in Bakugan state that the rules DON'T change in tournaments, therefore your statement is pretty invalid.

That is true, but it doesn't say they DO change in tournaments either.

here is a link to the rules from bakucon.com and how i found it was just by going to the registration page and clicked on the tournament ruleshttp://baku-con.com/Details/TournamentRules.htmland heres another cool rule Who Plays First?Players determine who plays first in a tournament match using a random method. They may flip a coin, roll a die, or use any other non-disruptive means to determine this result.so young kids who think they are going first might not

It doesn't have to as we have the FAQ. The official rules only take presidence over the FAQ if the rule is actually IN the official rules which it isn't.THus anything that the official rules don't address and the FAQ does, can be technically counted as an official rule unless they eventually stick something IN the official rules. In other words, nothing can't take any presidence over a rule.
