well it isnt that deadly, and for all i know you could just be trying to get this person votes and not even know her.
not to be a downer but your dad can find another job but it probably wont be as good since the economic state the country is in.

cystic fibroses is just a common cronic lung disease that builds up muckus in the lungs. it is not deadly unless it blocks the airway whitch only happens 1 in every 1,000,000
