OMG they finally gave us the lowdowb by updating the FAQ on the official website here is what iy says:
Quote
* I have a card that says something about all Bakugan "with special treatments", what are those?
A special treatment Bakugan is any that doesn't look "normal." This would include any clear, translucent, pearly, heavy metal, reverse attribute, dual attribute, etc. Basically, if the attribute is made of normal colored plastic then it is a normal treatment Bakugan. The attribute switching Preyas is not a special treatment as it is made out of the correct color of plastic, but the clear version is in fact a special treatment Bakugan.

Told ya.
Though "Heavy Metal" comes to me as a surprise as a "Special Treatment" then again, whatever. The FAQ is wrong on those bakugan character types anyway... they just copied from the poster cause it says "Battletron" instead of Robotallian. What a rip. I don't know what to beleive anymore, everyhting with these bakugan people is so halfbaked.
I have left this place due to it's swift fall.
You can find me for Bakugan or anything else at the forums on www.clockworkouroboros.com (http://www.clockworkouroboros.com). Seeya!

no it would not, putting it on the package would not clear things up for the advrage player.
or at least have it in the rule book.
oh well. i guess if you happen to goto a tourment print out the web page...

what do u mean "those bakugan character types"

I mean on the FAQ they gave a list of 48 Bakugan and say that was ALL the bakugan.
The people writing these things clearly know nothing and just copied the poster.
They used incorrect names such as "Battletron" for Robotallian and others exactly how they are printed on the poster.
They also exclude Lars Lion and "Naga" which are clearly out but not on the poster.

ughh. that is a rulling nightmare. why couldnt they just have included "specal" on the ball somewhere? Gahhh

Not really...
"Special treatment" refers to all types of Bakugan that are NOT the normal color. Super Easy to tell.

The only thing I disagree with is including "Heavy Metal" as a special treatment. This means all Series 1 Hydranoids and all Delta Dragonoids are "Special Treatment" regardless of coloring, as a year ago, there was no such thing as "Special attack"and Metal rings were standard ( and the only way you could get them).
I have left this place due to it's swift fall.
