You are correct!

Since you said core treatment, does that mean it is not special treatment, even though it looks different from a regular Haos bakugan with the dark brush?

I consider core to be a special treatment.
Sucked into the pokemon TCG, I am no longer as interested in playing with my balls as I was before..

Ah, OK. Where I come from, "core" is the word for non-special bakugan. This was before we got the term "Bakucore" as a new type of bakugan.

I don't think any of the new sets (Save Bakucrystal and maybe Bakuneon) are considered special-treatment because they don't have any special rules nor are they a Special Attack bakugan.

Oh god... They are called Special TREATMENT Bakugan, there are about 10 different cards that say special TREATMENT. Just because one card says special FX doesn't make it so. Don't go correcting people about stuff you don't know anything about...

For anyone who might be wondering, BakuganAlley got shut down on me by the piece of crap hosting company under accusations of posing as an offical SM site

Dude, it goes either way.  They could be considered both special treatment and special FX.  just depends on the situation or what you prefer to call it.
