just make sure you get the one with the "spilt milk" base and NOT the ones with the half-circle base.

Hmmm.  Why?  Mine had the "spilt milk base".  What's wrong with the half-circle figure packs lol?

~Mirth

Edit: or was that not directed to me?
He told me this before. The "spilt milk base" are the older figures that will come with an HSP card. Whereas the half-circle means they are of a newer set or wave if you will. Which I believe come with only an Ability card. If you read carefully too on the front of the packaging near the name of the figure, it will say which kind of card it comes with. The "spilt milk base" always comes with a metal gate card. And the newer ones come with Ability cards only I believe.

Ahhh, thanks.  For Series 1 I guess I didn't realize there were non-metal ability cards.  I thought all the HSP cards were metal gate cards...  ???

Sorry, I'm confused lol.  So you mean that the circle bases don't come with HSP cards if the package says "Series 1" and also "1 Ability Card" on the front instead of "Series 1" and "1 Metal Card"?  Do the half-circle bases have series 2 card set ability cards?  I guess I'm not sure how a HSP ability card differs from a HSP Metal Gate card.

Sorry I didn't mean to confuse you. The half circle based figures give only Ability cards I believe. I bought a Darkus Laserman with half circle base with somewhat newer packaging and got a Ventus Ability card. And then I've bought a Aquos Siege with half circle base that has the same packaging as the spilt milk bases and got a Summon Wave card. So as to what sets come with the cards I'm not entirely sure. If I recall correctly someone said that Ability cards didn't start coming out till series 2 but I'm not that sure because I didn't start at the very begining.

As to the part about Metal Gate cards, I just meant that tells you want comes inside, as that was its intended function. I don't believe any of the newer figures come with Gate cards at all. So the only set of figures that did were the spilt milk base ones.

Sorry if I have confused you again but hope this helps.

Ok, I think I get it now.   ;D  I'll just make sure to check the packaging closely before I buy to make sure it comes with a metal card.  It is pretty easy to tell by looking if it has a metal center.  Thanks for the info, I'll post back if I get anything interesting.

Cheers~

i dont remember but i think the newer style ( half circle ) has a metal card as well. BUT it is not a series one HSP card. The packaging looks the same to me with series 1 on it and all. Just be careful to look at the base if your wanting a series one card.

Cool, thanks for clarifying.  Guess I was just lucky I didn't go with one of the half-circle based ones when I was at the store, I think most of the other ones left were the half-circle type.  One of my local stores has about a half dozen series 1 Haos Stinglashes left, maybe I'll try those for HSP cards lol.

Cheers~

So I just bought one of the newer sets. I bought a half circle based Naga and got the green Attractor 13/15a Ability card. I don't have a good camera so here's the barcode which I don't think matters all that much and the numbers below the barcode which matters more as you've shown.

Now I only wonder what cards you'd get with the Preyas Angelo and Preyas Diablo. I'll probably pick them up next time I go there if they're still there.

Oh, nice! Set A. Maybe there's hope for these yet lol.

Did the packaging for that one say "Series 1"?  I was in the store today looking at these again, and some are the old style cards (more narrow and longer than the new cards and with rounded corners) that say "Series 1" and "1 Metal Card" on the front but the figurines have the circular style base.  And the card inside is 100% a gate card of some sort, you can see where the metal insert is sealed inside.  Maybe these are Series 2 set A gate cards?  Hmmm...

The newer sets that he is referring to the packaging is completely different.

Ok.  I think this is where my confusion came in, as I'm seeing a ton of the old style cards with "Series 1" and "1 metal card" on the front, and 4 out of 5 of the figures are on the half-circle bases.  So half-circle base vs. Spilt milk base isn't really the best litmus test to use right?  Its more about the packaging if I'm reading everything right.  I promise I'm almost done beating this poor dead horse that I'm sure no one cares about lol.

I just bought some figures and here are the results.

Wavern- Which I believe is in the same series of figures as Laserman, Preyas Angelo, and Preyas Diablo. And I got a Stealin' card with it so not that bad.

Preyas Diablo- Terribly bad, if I had known I wouldn't of bought it. It came with a Preyas Switch card.

Darkus Dual Hydranoid- I believe this one comes from the figure set that comes after the 1st series and it has a half circle base. It came with the Darkus 2 Ability which isn't all that really.

Haos Translucent Tigrerra- Really disappointed in this one too, I was hoping it would come with the Power-Up Gate that is shown to come with it in the Character Packs but it instead came with the Light Burst Gate.

Really bad figures cards =/

:-\ Ya, disappointing to say the least.  None of those had the "Series 1" on the front though right?

I didn't really pay attention to the Series 1 part but the Tigrerra was in the same type of packaging as the spilt milk based ones.

And then I believe Laserman, Naga, Wavern, Preyas Angelo, Preyas Diablo are from the same series.
