Preface
Need For New System[01A]
The Bakudome has had problems in all of its incarnations, allowing cheating to go by with no penalties, discrediting the skilled brawlers from the title they deserve, and having many errors – intentional or unintentional. The need for a new system is greater than ever before, since with a genesis for the site, there's no excuse to leave this unanswered.
A new system is the answer to solving many of the unresolved problems in the traditional win/loss scoreboard. This system takes into account the skill of players, the activity of players, and the desire of players. Using the opponent's skill in a quantified form to award or deduct from your score is an excellent show of where your skill level is. In addition to this, the system encourages doing multiple brawls to reap special benefits from it. Finally, it also bolsters players' desires to get to the top, along with people at the top to keep their spot. Essentially, a new system is the way to go, and this system meets and exceeds the new criteria.
How To Use This[01B]
As of right now, this is just a proposal, not rules set in stone. Therefore, do not make it out as that. To navigate through this with much ease, just click the links to be directed to the section they point to. If you wish to quote something from these rules, just use this code:

Finally, if you feel there should be an amendment to these rules, you can contact the current scoreboard keeper or post it here and it will be decided on. Best of luck!
Basic Rules and Usage
Eligibility [02A]
The Bakudome is open to everyone, though to be eligible for the scoreboard you cannot be:
- On staff, which includes global moderators, bakudome moderators, and administrator,
- Current Scoreboard Keeper.
This is to prevent biased parties from modifying the board to be in their favor. Other than the ones listed above, any members are eligible to join the Bakudome Scoreboard.
Brawl Rules [02B]
During all brawls which are meant to be counted towards scoreboard, please follow these rules:
- A copy of the team your using must be PMed to scorekeeper any time prior to your brawl. You do not need to submit the same team multiple times, but clarifying what team you're using in a PM would be helpful. Also, label your gates A, B, and C when submitting.
- All coins must be flipped using http://cointossr.com/ . If you are having difficulties with it, you can ask a judge or scorekeeper to do the flip.
- There will be a judge(the scorekeeper in most cases) to monitor brawls and resolve problems. Feel free to politely contact one if you need to settle a dispute.
- All games must be played by rulebook rules (in NV, GI, or MS format) and any addenda found on the official site, and any other adjustments made on BakuganBuzz
- Judges have the final say in any rulings. If you find these rulings to be unfair, you can contact the scorekeeper. If the scorekeeper finds it to be fair, then you're out of luck.
- Sportsmanship is expected out of every participant.
- When setting gates, you must state the label you gave the gate when submitting to prevent gate floating.
Failure to follow these can result in the brawl being invalid and consolation given (if necessary).
Scoring [02C]
Every participant starts off at 1000 points. Each time you win, you have 10% of the opponent's points added to your score. If you lose, if your opponent has higher points, you lose 7.5% of your points, and if your opponent has lower points or the same, you lose 12.5% of your points. For example, there's two brawlers:
Bob - 2,300 Points
Jim - 1,000 Points
Bob beats Jim. Jim gains 10% of the points Jim has, making his new total 2,400 Points. Since Bob has more points than Jim, Jim only loses 7.5% of his points, making his new score 925 Points.
To report battles, just post a link to the battle, and the scoreboard keeper will update it.
Cheating [02D]
Cheating is an intolerable act and will be punished in this system. Cheating comes in these forms:
- Using Bakugan and other items not originally on your team.
- Intentionally using items wrong to gain an advantage.
- Any dishonesty.
Cheating results in an automatic loss of the battle, and the penalty for losing gains an additional +5%. So don't cheat.
The Restrictions List [02E]
For every incarnation of the scoreboard, there will be a list that restricts the use of any items on it. There are two tiers, Minor and Major. If an item is in the minor tier and you use it, you lose 2% of your score. If an item is in the major tier and you use it, you lose 4% of your score. This also stacks, so it's recommended you don't use any of these.
Specialties
Bonuses For Completing Special Challenges [03A]
In addition to regular spoils for winning, there are special conditions where your spoils are increased. These are:
- Win 3-0: +5%
- All Bakugan Are Same Attribute: +1%
- Win Streak: +1% per win.
- Weekly Challenge: +10%
Every week, a special challenge will be available. If you win and meet the conditions, you get a really high bonus. However, this bonus is really hard to get, so be wary!
The Top 3 [03B]
The Top 3 in the current scoreboard gain a few special perks, these are:
- Gain a prestige bonus of 3%, meaning that if you win, you gain +3%, but if you lose, you deduct +3%. It's a challenging bonus, but the Top 3 should be able to handle it.
- Gain -5% at the end of each two weeks. This can be negated and turn into a positive gain if multiple brawls are done (+1% per, then resets, caps at +5%).
- Gain a reward at the end of a season(3 months) based on what place they are in.
In addition to this, all people who place in top 3 at the end of the season have their scores halved, to allow the board to be reset in the sense that newer people who were close to top 3 have an easier chance to get into it, plus it's a lot more challenging to get repeated Top 3 placements.
