Yup, many of the most recent cases of the aptly named "Alto Brontes Disease" (A condition where a Bakugan has pieces of plastic jutting out from the sphere, preventing it from rolling normally) can be cured.
At least that seems to be the case with Lumagrowl. I just removed the offending ridges from it an it has caused no trouble in regards to any of its mechanisms and it now rolls far better. This proves that the extra bits of plastic jutting out from Lumagrowl have no point.
However others like Avior and Dharak look more challenging as some of the parts that jut out for them seem to have a purpose. As I get more extras of each I'll experiment more.
Phosphos has no Alto Brontes Disease, nor do any of the Super Assaults I have found so far, so no cure is needed for them.
In order to cure Alto Brontes Disease, you need a good deal of experience shaving down plastic bits with an exacto knife (This is NOT kids stuff, if you're still a kid who is, like, under 15, get an adult to help you).
Layer by layer, gently and carefully shave away any offending bits with the exacto knife until it matches the contour of the sphere. It's that simple. Maybe I'll try it on an Alto Brontes to see if it's possible, but since the molding is so bad I'm not sure.
I'll try to do some pics of my cured Lumagrowl (Vs my regular ones) later.
And now the question: Would curing a Bakugan of Alto Brontes Disease count as "altering the bakugan to gain a gameplay advantage"?
In other news, I just learned there's a Haos Viper Helios! DO WANT!!
