Battle Gear Attributes?
« on: February 14, 2010, 02:59:36 PM »
Does anyone know how to tell if a Battle Gear is Copper, Silver, or Gold? I thought it was the color of their reference card, but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong.

Gold is like an "X" or a "+" sign. Its located on this Airkor's left wing.

Silver is like a Hazard symbol. This Rock Hammer gear is Silver and only comes in Silver as far as I know. The symbol is at the top of it.

Copper is like a "0". Located on this Battle Turbines top.

Simple reasoning and deduction. Some of the Blue Ability cards would say

"Play during a battle where there is a (0) BRONZE GEAR: Add G-Power based on Attribute."

And so I would believe that symbol was the Bronze symbol. And then the same with Gold. And whatever was left, must then be Silver.

Kohdok figured out differently. You can tell which type of Gear they are by looking at the outlining colors. Like if the outlining was Silver, then it was a Silver Gear, and etc etc etc.

Yes, in the rules it says if the gear matches the color gate card, then any of the reference ability card affects can be used whether or not you have a matching attribute to the gear.

Since a few of us have seen a good chunk of the new GI cards, some of the symbols are actually referenced by the cards themselves , even going so far as to printing a graphic symbol for gold. The metallic paint on the Battle Gear also clearly identifys which symbol is which, because the metallic paint highlights on the gear are CLEARLY gold, silver or bronze/copper.

The new rulebook doesn't spell this out and IMO it should ! We shouldn't have to figure this out, even though we can. What about the little tykes or their parents ? lol..

I have the AirKor is Gold and Copper/bronze for example. The paintjob and new gear attribute, basically represent the three colors of the gate cards in a nutshell. Use the right gear on the right Gate card, and BLAM double the printed g-power. Sure if you are lucky enough to have 1 of the 2 attributes on the Battle Gear reference card, you can use a special ability, but if you play gold gear on gold card, you can pick ANY ability on the card regardless of if your bakugan would normally be able to use it or not.

Also, you can open up the gear on the gate card and use it that way as well so I think we might be able to use our older B3 B2 with the gear despite the lack of pegs. I am not 100% for sure though since the Battle Gear packaging says not all bakugan compatible, but that could just mean not all bakugan could actually connect via pegs and magnets.

I think the Battle gears will be 100% backward compatible. The new series also featured bakugan that do not have the connectors on their back (legacy) and they are going to piss of a lot of people if they limit the use of the Battle gears those who have connectors.

Again we have to wait and see but I think we will see the official announcement soon.

But it can connects to the new gears which works under a bakugan. Snapzoid can simply stand on it.

After getting 2 Silver Rock Hammer Gears, I see that the Silver Attribute symbol is does not go in the same direction on both of them.
